Marni Lawson

In 1983 Marni had 1,000 copies of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse painting printed and they sold out.
Her husband came up with the title, during a real estate boom- "Well Lit, Small Yard, Ocean View"
Folks asked for them for 7 years afterwards.

Marni lived in Rockland, Maine for 9 years and watched the building of the Schooner "Heritage."
Most of those paintings are before digital...
Her husband moved them to the Western Maine Mountains where she painted primarily
Sugarloaf and Mountain Scenes.
She lived there over 20 years.
Her is a resume of her professional accomplishments:

When Stars Align

The Tranquil

As a young man, Greg Mort arrived in Maine the summer of 1977 and was so
struck by the beauty of the star filled night sky and rugged coast he
promised he would always return and someday make his home here.  For over
thirty-three years he has returned each summer and built his home and studio
in Port Clyde, Maine where his hosts his annual Open Studio the first
weekend in August each year. With the Smithsonian, Farnsworth, Portland and
many other fine museums acquiring his works of art Mort's career grew and
his love of Maine continued to express itself in many of his paintings.  An
astronomer as well as artist many of Mort's iconic images of the Maine
evening sky evoke the passion and fascination that draw so many visitors to
Maine from all over the world.

Mort works entirely from life hiking with his brushes and paints along the
shore and out to nearby coastal islands.  His work features a wide variety
focusing on both the infinite and infinitesimal finding beauty in the minute
sands covering the shores and the vast stars above.

Maine Photographer: John Shaw

I was born and raised in Camden.  I spent 42 years in education as a teacher, coach, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, and as a high school Principal.  I am now retired with photography, primarily of lighthouses, being a major passion in my life.  I operate a blog on lighthouses, wildlife, and flowers as a means of sharing my work.  I have been fighting having it become a job, thus replacing a fantastic hobby.  I have attached five of my lighthouse photos along with a photo of me in Hawaii.  I sincerely hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
