Maine Artist: Pauline Davis Lorfano








Pauline Davis Lorfano is a nationally recognized artist whose work is exhibited in galleries
throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area and along the east coast. When not painting
her own or commissioned work, she gives workshops and classes, juries art exhibits, and
fulfills requests to serve on the boards of local area art organizations. Pauline is extremely
active in the local arts community, and continues to be instrumental in fostering community
 interest in the arts.

Self-employed artist working out of her studio in Vienna, VA. Her versatility in subject matter
is evident; she works on commissions for historical scenes, landscapes, marine scenes, florals
 and still life paintings. She enjoys working in watercolor, oil, acrylic, gouache, charcoal and
pencil, and paints nearly every day now that her four children are grown.

Received two Grumbacher gold medals.
Numerous Awards- Best in Show to Honorable Mention.

Marni Lawson


In 1983 Marni had 1,000 copies of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse painting printed and they sold out.
Her husband came up with the title, during a real estate boom- "Well Lit, Small Yard, Ocean View"
Folks asked for them for 7 years afterwards. 
 
Marni lived in Rockland, Maine for 9 years and watched the building of the Schooner "Heritage." 
Most of those paintings are before digital...
Her husband moved them to the Western Maine Mountains where she painted primarily 
Sugarloaf and Mountain Scenes.
She lived there over 20 years.
